D.W. Rogers Manuscripts
Diaries written by Rogers for the years 1870-1871, 1874, 1876-1878, 1890-1902 which describe weather conditions, farm operations, his ministerial duties, and purchases for the farm and household. Ordained to preach by the Ebenezer Baptist Church in 1859, he served this as well as fourteen other churches in Preston, West Virginia, and adjoining counties. Included is a book of sermons with notes on biblical passages.
Henry Dans Ward Diary
A journal kept by Henry Dans Ward while rector of the St. John's and St. Luke's Episcopal churches in Charleston and Malden and as proprietor of a school in New York. From 1843 through 1857 there are notes on churches and social, economic, and political affairs in the Kanawha Valley. Accounts for school and household expenses in New York cover the years, 1858-1862.
James William Kuykendall Papers
Papers of a land surveyor from Hardy County include family and business correspondence, 1888-1926; letters from George Benson Kuykendall on family genealogy, 1911-1914; Kuykendall's correspondence as a member of the county board of education, 1908-1915; account books, diaries, surveying notes, Sunday school class book, 1876-1923; and plats, surveys, and deeds of land in the Hardy-Grant County area.

Diary of Luke Wilcox, a Kanawha County farmer, merchant, salt well and furnace owner and operator, written in memorandum form except for scattered entries giving more information on specific subjects, such as the weather, churches and ministers, farm operation, travel, salt wells and furnaces, slaves, names of personal and business correspondents, coal, and land purchases.
